Chris and Shauna Johnson – The Johnson Group
The Johnson Group specializes in providing professional staffing and consulting services for both public and private projects. The Johnson Group, Inc. was recognized as the 7th Fastest Growing Company in the Sacramento area by Sacramento Business Journal. Chris Johnson was featured in Black Enterprise Magazine, a national publication for the “40 Next Emerging Business Leaders” spread. Recipients included prestigious business professionals and celebrities including Nick Cannon amongst others. The Johnson Group, Inc. has supported the efforts of Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Rotary of Sacramento, Sacramento Area Emergency Housing Centers (SAEHC), Boys & Girls Club of America, and Safe Haven, Inc. While heading The Johnson Group, Inc., Mr. Johnson has simultaneously coached thousands of kids in the Elk Grove and Sacramento Area over the last 14 years. In March of 2010, Mr. Johnson started Chris Johnson Basketball Academy, (CJBA).

Walter Grubbs – Families First
Walter Grubbs joined Families First in 2003 as a member of the Board of Directors and in 2006, became the agency’s president and CEO. His career entails more than 30 years of management experience. Prior to joining Families First, Walter was the vice president of Human Resources at VSP Vision Care, the nation’s leading provider of eye care health benefits. During his tenure at the company, Fortune Magazine noted VSP as being one of the best places to work in the country for seven consecutive years. Outside of the office, Walter has also been active in other community affairs, including the Alcohol Safety Action Program (Portland, Oregon), Simi Valley (California) Hospice, Los Angeles Urban League, youth sports, youth education, board service, the Sacramento County Local Child Care and Education Council, and the Council of California Community Mental Health Agencies. Walter is currently a member of the VSP Vision Care board of directors. Outside of the office, Walter has also been active in other community affairs, including the Alcohol Safety Action Program (Portland, Oregon), Simi Valley (California) Hospice, Los Angeles Urban League, youth sports, youth education, board service and the Sacramento County Local Child Care and Development Planning Council.

Sr. Pastor Todd Wallace – The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepard
Pastor Wallace and his wife, Cathi, are natives of Minnesota and recently moved from Brooklyn Park Minnesota where Todd was Senior Pastor of Discover Church, a two site church—Brooklyn Park Lutheran and Discover Church in Champlin, a nearby community. Todd and Cathi Wallace have been married for 26+ years and have 3 children: Nathan, Joy, and Noah. Pastor Todd has background and experience as a youth director, solo pastor, and associate pastor in addition to his tenure as Senior Pastor for the past 12 years at Brooklyn Park. He has also been a Naval Reserve Chaplin and been privileged to represent the ELCA in Tanzania, South Africa and Papua New Guinea.

The Very Rev. Brian Baker – Trinity Episcopal Cathedral
Brian moved to Sacramento from Sun Valley, Idaho in April of 2006. In addition to leading Christian congregations, he has worked closely with people in other faith traditions, particularly Tibetan Buddhists and reformed Jews. He has also worked to insure the full inclusion of all people into the Episcopal Church. He is a graduate of West Point and is an Army veteran. Brian and his wife Andrea have two children.

Richie Fernandez, California Bank and Trust
Born and raised in Southern California and upon graduating from UC Davis decided to make Sacramento his permanent Home. Richie was a member of the Rotary International Group Study exchange mission to Austria in 2008, is Metro Chamber Leadership Sacramento Alumni, and is a current member of the Rotary Club of East Sacramento to keep him active in the community. He enjoys spending time with his family playing soccer, and the live arts.

Dan Cole, Co-Founder of The Evergreen Company
Dan Cole earned his degree in political science from the University of Oregon but has adopted Sac State as his second alma mater. Cole co-founded The Evergreen Company in 1981 and its projects include The Capitol Bank Building, The Ridge at Creekside Retail Center and the State of California’s Employment Development Department. In service to the U.S. Army and the Army Reserve, he received numerous medals including a Silver Star, two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. Cole has worked to increase CSUS’s impact and presence in the community through his role as director of the Sacramento Region Community Foundation. He has also been a leader in the Boy Scouts of America, founded the Sacramento Education Job and College Program at C.K. McClatchy High School and is a volunteer coordinator and advisor for facility improvements at Sacramento High School.

Jerry Jeffe- California Chronic Care Coalition
Jerry Jeffe is the Public Policy Director for the California Chronic Care Coalition. The Coalition stresses the importance of the patient in the formulation of health care policies. It also stresses the importance of prevention in all health and social services programs. Prior to assuming his position with the Coalition, Jerry was the Deputy Executive Director of Mental Health America of California and the California Council of Community Mental Health Agencies, and staffed the California Coalition for Mental Health. He also spent 25 years with the County of Orange as (1) a Budget Analyst for mental health, health care, public safety, and social services programs and (2) the County’s Legislative Advocate in Sacramento and Washington, D.C.

Kasey Cotulla – Delta Web Printing
Delta Web Printing is owned and managed by Jim Davis and Kasey Cotulla. The company has been in continuous operation at its West Sacramento facility since its founding in 1992. The company was started as a focused manufacturer of book, insert, and periodical publishing – and continues to provide these services today. Before joining the company as a partner, he managed one of the largest commercial printers in the area as president. Kasey’s background in operations and customer relations provides a complement to Delta Web’s exceptional capabilities. As did his print experience of over 25 years. Kasey is engaged in the community and puts a great deal of time into volunteering, civic, and charity efforts. He serves on the board of Lilliput Children’s Services and has been a foster child mentor through the Wonder, Inc Program. He was introduced to SCA through the Metro Chamber Leadership Sacramento Program. Kasey is drawn to serve SCA by their mission of protecting the interests of children who have no champion. Mr. Cotulla is a lifelong resident of Sacramento County and lives in the city with his wife and two children.

Lawrence Garcia – Gordon & Rees, LLP
Mr. Garcia focuses his current practice on seeking to find creative and enduring solutions to the most serious problems faced by companies in the current business environment including business structuring, commercial transactions and dispute resolution. To that end, Mr. Garcia brings his experience as a lawyer, healthcare consultant, and arbitrator/mediator to support his clients’ needs. Mr. Garcia had primary responsibility for development of the highly successful “legal support services” product line for BDC Advisers, LLC.

Mr. Garcia serves or has served on the Adjunct Faculty of Drexel University, USC, the UC Davis Graduate School of Management, and the USF College of Professional Studies.

Mr. Garcia has been happily married for thirty-six years and actively involved in the raising of their children: Gabriel (31), Vanessa (27), and Damian (24).
